What is the ReStore?
The ReStore is a discount home improvement and building supply store operated by Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County. All proceeds from the ReStore are used to support Habitat’s mission to eliminate poverty housing and to empower families and volunteers to improve lives. The ReStore concept originated in Austin, Texas in 1992 and there are now hundreds of ReStores at Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country. ReStore reuses, recycles, and resells functional building materials, tools, furniture, and appliances that are in good condition, thereby diverting hundreds of tons of useable materials from local landfills.
